Did Mary do her stint on the News Channel today? She's down for tomorrow too, it'll be interesting to see. I wonder if we'd have seen Kirsty Young on there had she not left?

Yes, Mary did do her hour on the NC this afternoon. She was very good, too. Much better than Mark Austin, who is good on the Evening News but struggles with the ad-libbing required on the NC.

I also noticed that the breakfiller needs updating because of the recent studio changes, and the new weather and markets stings.

CNN have got the right idea - an absolutely enourmous set (VR of course)...

I'm sorry, but you are mistaken.

None of the CNN studios are created using virtual reality.

In the past, they have made virtual additions to the studio, but only for special presentations such as elections and so forth.

As it is, the main CNN International, Headline News and Domestic (Atlanta and New York) studios are entirely real.

Of course I would usually be the last to point this out...

But when it comes to VR, Sky really have been the most frequent users of totally VR studios - partly because of economics (hell of a lot cheaper to produce an impressive VR studio than a real one).

From memory...

Election 97, Eclipse (99?), the Budget, European Elections, Millennium coverage, Election 2001.

Yes coming out of a report on tonight's News at Ten, Trevor said a funny line.

So unlike him, Has he been spending too much time with Nicholas Owen!

According to next week's Radio Times, Trevor is presenting the ITV News at 11pm next Monday night

Has ITN negotiated a new deal with Sir Trev, or is it a mistake?

Well, according to reports he threatened to quit in January when asked to reoprt on a story about the "45 minute" claim when in Baghdad. He didn't believe it and said he would rather quit than report it.

They should have kept on asking him to do it.

At the moment the News Channel is running back-to-back repeats of Sasha Herriman's 10pm(?) broadcast

Owen was on at 11.30, but we didn't even get live headlines at midnight or 00.30.

What's happening?

Sasha said 'hello' rather than 'good evening', so I assume the half-hour was intended for repeat. Though the bulletin was peppered with references to 'today' and 'this evening'.

Well regarding Sasha saying "hello" a lot - she always does this. I am intrigued, though, I'd noticed it myself. Where is Owen?! Crying or Very sad
