Great to see Owen Thomas back on overnights, much better than So or Lloyd. It ould be great to see him in the day, I really think he and Felicity would be a good pairing for the mornings.

Though when they use two presenters, you never know, we may see more Owen.
Though a Morning News programme with Owen and Felicity would be excellent!

I don't think that a dual anchored morning news would be a good idea as it dosen't get the ratings lunchtine and evening news does.
I personally think we should see a return for lunchtime news as dual anchored as well as the evening news, leaving the late news single anchored except when its extended then it can be dual anchored.

Perhaps ITV could do five style updates throughout the day using some of the news channel presenters!

I think Tim195 is referring to plans on the News Channel rather than ITV1 to introduce dual anchorage.

I too would like to see Owen on in daytimes on the NC - maybe the bosses think he's too lightweight?

I thought that ITV were allowed to show it as they hold the rights to it, its only other broadcasters, like the BBC, who must pay vast amounts of money.
From reports elsewhere, I read that ITV can show the rugby as much as they like for a year. Following that, they will have to licence it, like any other broadcaster.

It was also said that felicity owt to do a dual anchored morning news with owen which i don't think is good idea, i would have preferred the lunchtime news to be dual anchored.
Though Felicity really should have a person with her in the mornings i don't know if it should be owen, she can banter more with someone like steve scott or andrew harvey.
I have been reading this thread since it started and i am aware that the news channel are planning to introduce dual anchorage.

NEXT QUESTION!

Yeah I think that we should return to original days; have the Lunchtime News at 12:30, full programme with Nicholas Owen and Katie Derham, followed by Regional News at 1:00, have a 1.5minute news summary followed by 3 minute Regional News Summary at 3:10, full Evening News at 6:30 with Mark Austin and Mary Nightingale and then Trevor or John with 30 minutes of News at Ten followed by Regional News. Then have dual anchors on the News Channel in mornings and evenings and I think things could work out well.

I like your thinking.
Though what would happen if trev and/or john reitred would that see mark moving on the lates and someone from the news channel or james mates taking over the evening slots.
I think they should make more use of steve scott, leyla and rachel m more often as in my opinion they could just fit in to ITV1 news bulletins

I think the first page mentioned ITV News Changes as well.

Personally I think the impending revamp deserves a new thread considering this one was set up for something completly different.

Yes. The ITV News revamp is also being discussed in a Granada Reports thread, so it would better being brought together under one new thread. So who wants to start it ?
