I get your point, but it's still a not a good place for a breakfast show to be. GMTV presenters used to get knitted jumpers and birthday cards, not endless messages of hate.

I think it's a good way of marketing him and the programme. ITV know people think he's a controversial and "Marmite" character, and that people aren't afraid to say their opinion on him. In a way I think they're taking the pee pee out of Marjorie from Exmouth and the likes that comment "hate Pierce on gmtv everymorning much prefer ben and kate theyre so much better im going back to bbc now until you bring them back"... yet they still watch and take time to comment everyday.
