Good Morning Britain - 2015 Refresh/Tweaks

I too will miss Piers as he and Susannah and Charlotte are a great team.

As a positive though; at least he can have a break and be refreshed for Seotember with what will be an exciting time news wise here and Anerica with the party conference season and climax in November to the US elections.

Don't forget possible rumours of something in Seotember which circulated on here a few weeks ago.

We may see other people presenting whilst Piers is off.

Surprised he won't be back on the 29th of August. So I guess September the 5th is when the new season starts for all itv daytime programmes.

This has been said before, but I think Kate would be offended to be described as anything other than a "reputable and qualified" journalist, having worked her way through Central News, BBC News 24 and Sky News before 15 years on the various ITV Breakfast incarnations.

Now you may not enjoy her presenting style, but that's a completely different thing.

why would you expect that? 29th August is a bank holiday and even if it wasn't it isn't the first week of September

Eamonn used to leave for summer in May before spring bank and not come back before September.

Seen as excessive then, but he did right to take it while he could because he now ends up working every summer.

That article sums up who the viewers are and what they think of it "For a lighthearted TV programme". I feel this show is starting to bypass it's lighthearted stage and the events of the past few months have been good for the show to prove itself.

As for Piers' holiday, bad decision for GMB. Consistency is what this show needs to gain a good reputation.


If having the summer off is a key factor then every single live news/magazine on TV must have a bad reputation then.

Due to his BBC Sport role, Dan Walker will be on Breakfast about 2 weeks out of 10 this summer and people like Steph have had sofa slots on main weekdays.

I don't know really as many schools start back on the Friday of that week so i thought they would refresh everyhting before then. I didn't realise it was a Bank holiday Monday on the 29th.

Remember he did this with GMA and NBC Today before GMB launched. Possibly getting new ideas for a new look?

Highly unlikely, as the show hasn't even launched yet. He's possibly doing some consulting for them and telling them what they've found works and what hasn't.

Am I right in thinking that Your Morning is a 'fresh, modern' breakfast show replacing Canada AM which had a reputation for being a bit too cosy and stale, and came to an abrupt end after being on air for decades?

Isn't the last Monday of August ALWAYS a Bank Holiday?
