If you look at the figures, they haven't. I don't know where you've got that from. In the third week of March, the show averaged around 618,500 viewers, compared to Breakfast's 1.5 million.
An article from 'Broadcast Magazine' published at the end of January:
The claim
“I’ve come to put some order into this place,” were Piers Morgan’s first words when he took up a permanent three-day-a-week hosting slot on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.
Reports have since suggested that the former Mirror editor has put wind in the show’s sails, with the Huffington Post claiming this week that “Piers’ arrival has boosted viewing figures to “over the 700,000 mark”.
The reality
Not much has changed. Since Morgan’s debut on 23 November, Good Morning Britain has averaged 600,000 (16.5%), which was almost identical to the show’s figures over the same period in 2014/15.
BBC Breakfast, meanwhile, has continued to plough along with a steady 1.5m (38.5%) since Morgan’s arrival
I've heard this before now. The programme's viewing figures have increased very well since Piers Morgan has joined. I think it's also because Susanna and him have great chemistry.
