I think that if Mark was to stay on GMB, he would somewhat save the show! A lot of ITV viewers like him and I think GMB ratings would increase if he was on more, and Piers Morgan on less.
I also think GMB needs some help from ITV News with their editors and correspondents etc like Robert Peston.

No presenter will increase ratings, if you believe that you are living in a fantasy land.

I think it's certainly plausible that a presenter can reduce ratings though. Piers may have that effect.

He doesn't though, ratings have remained the same since Piers joined.

I think having Mark 3 days (Mon to Wed let's say) and Piers 2 days would work well. It would just depend who would be presenting with him as I imagine everyone else would stay the same. If that did happen though I imagine he would prefer to work with Ranvir than Charlotte.

I noticed a very minor graphics tweak today. For this interview, the main white information graphic was moved up on screen compared to its usual position immediately above the ticker. Whether this was an error or whether they're tweaking the graphics slightly remain to be seen. I will assume the former.

I'm pretty sure it was like that through the majority of the programme David. I thought that something was different when you could see the under the box - only slightly.

From what I saw all the straps in that middle section were moved up like your image above. Perhaps it was an error as there was a large gap at the bottom of the openers which allowed you to see the camera layer/graphic underneath. Beforehand there was just a small gap which was barely noticeable...

So I wasn't the only one to spot that at the beginning. I thought it was just me. Smile

I agree with this. I think people can be turned off when they watch a presenter whom you get the vibe that they think a lot of themselves. I certainly get that vibe of Susanna and Ben. Just sayin'

Forgot to add Piers, obviously.

I think certain presenters, and certain presenting teams can make or break a good format. I'm thinking Eamonn & Fiona, Chris & Gaby, Richard & Judy.

However, once you've lost a successful partnership, and the show starts to tank, it's very easy to focus on the talent and lose sight of the format which is equally as important.

Yeah, that's spot on.

I'll always love Fiona for replying to my tweet!

Susanna has done an interview with the Daily Mail's 'You' magazine in time for her return tomorrow, and one particular comment caught my eye.
Quote:
SUSANNA REID has reigned supreme for more than a decade on breakfast TV – and since joining forces with Piers Morgan on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, ratings have soared . She talks to Richard Godwin about holding her own on the sofa and ‘committed parenting’ post break-up.

Quote:
He and Susanna co-host Monday to Wednesday (she shares duties with Ben Shephard on Thursdays and takes Fridays off) and their on-screen chemistry has helped to turn around some disappointing ratings – over the past year there has been a five per cent increase in viewing figures and the programme gets peak audiences of more than a million . (Piers recently tried to stir up a bit of tension by asking: ‘What would your kids say is your most shameful secret – other than “Mummy fancies Piers?”’)

Does anybody know if this is that accurate?

I've heard this before now. The programme's viewing figures have increased very well since Piers Morgan has joined. I think it's also because Susanna and him have great chemistry.

5% year-on-year ratings increase is about 30,000 isn't it? Hardly 'soaring'...
