Looks like Jack Morton, who designed the original studio, is the company behind the new studio design.

Watching GMB and have to agree with someone else who posted a few days ago about the shots looking limited. The sweeping shot after the titles looked very shaky and was very simple looking, looked like a ped shot. Same with the moves going into and coming out of the local news. Would they take the Jib and Stedicam to TVC? But would TVC not provide these?

Can’t help but think these sorts of moments are entirely set up, just like Piers and Susanna’s faux rows. It’s a good way of making headlines and getting near constant publicity, which can’t be a bad thing. Piers and Susanna have their love/hate dynamic, Ben has his cheeky ‘laddish’ personality and Kate has the hapless act. It’s easy to see why Charlotte, Ranvir and Sean don’t have as much prominence - they don’t create headlines. I’m sure Kate never used to play stupid on GMTV or Daybreak. Although Susanna has completely changed since leaving the BBC, so I suppose it isn’t just Kate that’s undergone a bit of a personality transplant.

GMB is generally more free than the likes of Daybreak and Breakfast

The actual cameras (the lens/sensor/electronics) may be ones from TVC, but the mounts (the jib arm/head/rigging and steadicam pole/bracket/harness) wouldn't be part of a normal studio kit allocation and you'd have to hire them as add ons. They bought them to use at TLS, so no, it would be pretty normal to carry on using them at TVC.

It was a similar situation with BBC News at TVC. The jib they had was owned by them rather than the studios department so was theirs to use as they wished and couldn't be borrowed for other shows. Lots of productions own bits of kit that they use with standard stuff provided by their studio / facility provider because otherwise they'd have to hire for every show.

There seems to be a lot of Daily Mail reading going on here despite an equally amount of bashing of it.

The expression feeding the trolls come to mind, being the paper being the troll.
