Looks like GMB will be getting a new or tweaked theme tune. It doesn’t specify GMB in the tweet but Sitting Duck have produced all of GMB’s music before.

No it won't...

No special open. Lead story abput Bradly Wiggins. I wonder if they’ll do newshour style pres, with most Oscars stuff at 7 and 8. They didn’t do ghe same wide shot at the opening, but considering that the performance area only has a still backdrop, that was probably nothing

Just in case anybody needs a reminder of 2016:

Also an opportunity to remind people that I would love to see the fading on of the lighting becoming a permanent feature of the intro. It creates such a nice effect IMO.

Would love to hear a clean version of this.

This morning was a really great balance. More important news first but still Oscars heavy. I'd like it if Charlotte was always next to Susanna and they interview guests by the screen/false gallery. They could use the big and mini screens really well for interviews. Anyway, very well done this morning

I think the Bradley Wiggins comments today may be the beginning of Morgan’s downfall.

Thought I'd look on the ITV Hub to see what a 'really great balance' looks like, only to find ten minutes of a Piers Morgan monologue at the start of the programme! I appreciate that occasionally the things he says bring the programme some attention on social media, but today seemed to consist of (and I only flicked through so I could be wrong) Piers reporting how everyone had listened to his article and not spent the Oscars bashing Trump, followed by reading an article where Eamonn Holmes called him the saviour of breakfast TV!

Then, at ELEVEN minutes past six they eventually got onto the top story - at this point it's not even the quality of the journalism anyone should be caring about, instead it's the fact that they let Piers go off on ridiculous tangents. In the same time over on BBC One, they'd almost ran through all the top stories. As people have oft said on here before, at breakfast you want things to happen at consistent times so you can time your morning by them, something which certainly isn't happening here...

Like it or not though the show is built around him now on the days he is there rather than the news. As you say if you wanted the news an alternative was there and nowadays a broadcast breakfast show is just one way to get your morning fix of news - you don't have to wait for the broadcasters scheduled bulletin to find out what's happening.

Those who worked on the doping report had to be very careful legally about what they said, and the reporting of it in the papers was carefully worded. This was referenced on air, and then Piers went off on one of his rants, accusing Bradley Wiggins and Team Sky of cheating. I wouldn’t be surprised if ITV end up with a legal case against them.

This morning’s show was a bit of a strange one, I don’t think Stephanie Beecham was a particularly good choice either. In case anybody was wondering why Charlotte was on the other side of the desk, Beecham mentioned that she was deaf in one ear, so has to sit on the right.

You would think that a former newspaper editor would know how libel works.

Richard Gaisford was very quick to point out yesterday that the MPs did not accuse Bradley of that. Piers is going to unstuck one of these days and surely his comments yesterday would warrant Ofcom looking into it?

Yes, but remember how he got fired from that job....
