Seems to be another example of UTV being a bit old school, harking back to the days when getting announcers and random voices to read the weather out, out of vision, was seen as acceptable.

It's definitely one of the practices that's left over from the olden days of UTV that needs to be changed.

we must be the only region not to have in vision weather presenters on weekend

I think channel tv doesn’t have in vision weather presenters on weekend either

I wonder if many other ITV regions follow that practice too?

I always find it odd that BBC Wales Today doesn't have in-vision weather for every bulletin.

BBC Wales Today DID use to have in-vision weather for their bulletins. I think they just have little time now

ITV Channel’s weekend weather comes from ITV Meridian or the Met Office in Exeter.

Once upon a time, there was a Storm Front brewing in a view from Stormont

Shocked

What's with the indefinite article prefix?

Was the CA initially the expecting to introduce the James Bond film "A View To A Kill"?

Not a major error, but in the light of last week’s unfortunate incident, you’d think the announcers would have been told to take extra care in getting the programme’s title correct!

It just comes down to a lack of due care and attention when the national announcer is pre-recording regional announcements.

I'd be interested to know if Border Scotland/ITV Wales get such sloppy regional announcements as often as UTV?

So far this year we've had:
Views from Storm Front
New Breed
A view from Storm Mont

The next test is tonight at 7:30.

Here's a thought....surely (if they looked hard enough) theres some generic Julian or Gillian announcements on the server somewhere they could use before regional programming? If the national continuity team are so incapable of recording correct regional announcements (which they're proving to be), then I'd rather they not bother and just have a generic one from Julian/Gillian.
