Anyone know what's happened to the youtube channel? It was updated every day in the first couple of months but not it's not being updated as much.

He keeps having very long breaks, but I believe that's the whole point of 'Special Correspondent'

Remember that not all of the job of a correspondent takes place on the screen.

In my experience of special correspondents is that the job is someone who's off the daily reporter rota and working on feature or investigative stories.

Private Eye reported around the time of the GMTV changes that he was only going to be contracted for a number of days a year.

So Special = Part-time? Or kept on for a while but maybe not forever?

I always think of them as 'Special' Correspondent Laughing

I don't normally watch Daybreak but is it usual to have SIX people reviewing the papers? This morning it was just noise, they were all talking at once.

John Stapleton reporting for Daybreak from Seattle this morning with an "exclusive" but so far they've only covered it during the headlines.

I rather like the paper review they have. The banter comes across as friendly but then because they're talking about the morning's news, its also 'newsy'. Great mix between the GMTV style and Breakfast I think.

Also I noticed this morning they've constructed another wooden wall to the left hand side of the set, covering some of the window up. It does look more cosy actually.

It now needs to be left alone. This tweaking has been happening since the launch, it needs to settle down for christmas and be ready for the new year when people return to work.

Think it might finally be starting to settle now! Was watching it from 6am and felt it had 'gelled' a little more than previous weeks! Thoughts anyone?

I thought the set looked particularly well this morning, especially with that extra wooden wall on the left hand side, I think it makes it look less open and bare, and more cosy.

I also quite liked the red and yellow flowers behind the sofas, though I do hope they've got rid of that horrible glass bowl thing with flowers inside.

They need to change the pumpkin desk. It's ugly.

Love the paper review, the main stories are discussed in a fun way with great banter. The refer to it on the show as "The Mix".

I also caught the first hour this morning (the first time in quite a while watching Daybreak), and I was surprised by the number of set changes.

The yellow screens cover most of the window view behind the sofa until there is something to see, which is much better. However, the screens would look more professional if the rivets/screws weren't so obvious in the metal frames: which look as though they were knocked-up in someone's garage at the weekend. Confused

The weather seems to be done from either the sofa, in front of the 'sports screen', or on the stage in front of that retro 80s video wall. They should be more consistent, as it makes the TOTH/HH sequence look messy.

I didn't notice any change in the content: it's still aiming for people barely out of a long-term coma. They still went for something today that was largely irrelevant as a main news feature, and the presentational style is still awful.

I do wish someone would tell Chiles not to wear beige. I don't want to see his jumper covered beer belly or his trouser bulge while tucking into my 'crunchy nut cornflakes'. It's just not right! Shocked
