Yes Corrie has been really excellent on Granada Plus recently - todays Granada Plus episode was originally shown on Friday 3rd July 1992 on ITV. The 2 episodes shown on 6/7/92 will go out on Granada Plus on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Back to the current episodes of Corrie and ive heard that Tracey does go ahead with her wedding to Roy on the 17th November Shocked

Dont forget the "seven days that shook Coronation Street" is being shown on C4 at 9pm tonight - might be worth a look for Corrie fans and as its a revised repeat it contains new stuff to what was on the last one including the gay kiss.

Well that prog on C4 wasnt very good was it, the only new bits were the couple of clips added at the end, what a waste of time watching that was as ive seen it before!!! - although I was flicking between C4 and Pop Idol on ITV1 Very Happy

I am looking forward to there being a gay couple in Corrie, it will give the scope for lots of storylines.

Meanwhile this week sees the departure of Katy Carmichael as Lucy (On Friday I think)- I hope Kate Ford doesnt decide to leave the show also, in an interview with her I read, she said she doesnt intend to stay in the show *that* long. Adam Rickett can bugger off though, im sick of him in it now - Next time they bring Nick back they should get an actor who can actually act!

YAY! That is good news, she is a great character eh!

I also cant help feeling sorry for Tracey, she might be a bitch, but she doesnt deserve so much unhappiness.

What about the Halloween episode? Thought it was really good with some classic moments - seeing Fred dressed as Frankenstein made me laugh like a big girl! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I enjoyed that episode - great to see everyone dressed up, some comedy with Steve and then Tyrone.

This week I cant wait for this episode

The big confrontation in the Rovers on Wednesday night, there will certainly be fireworks.

And then Lucy leaves, I hope Peter doesnt leave with her, he doesnt deserve her!!!

Doesn't Lucy trick him into thinking they'll move away together, dumping him at the last minute?

That would be a good storyline - they do leave separately I think because Lucy leaves this Friday and Peter leaves sometime next week.

Katy who plays Lucy is on "This Morning" today, they interviewed her and she said people have been giving her dirty looks in the street etc as they cant tell her and her character apart - I dont see why people think Lucy is bad, are they forgetting she has been *very* badly hurt by Peter's antics.

They are also showing a clip later on "This Morning" as a taster of what happens with the storyline this week - Fern thinks it will be as good as Richards Exit, I cant see that myself although I have enjoyed the storyline as much as Richard Hillman's tbh.

Well there were only 21 sad individuals who complained about that gay kiss. And thankfully the ITC told them where to stick it.
From MediaGuardian:

TV watchdogs have brushed aside complaints about Coronation Street's first ever gay kiss, saying the storyline about "a young man's confusion with his sexuality" was appropriate early evening viewing.
The Independent Television Commission rejected 21 complaints from viewers upset by the kiss between the soap's Todd Grimshaw and his girlfriend Sarah Tilsley's brother, Nick.

It acknowledged Coronation Street's older viewers may have been uncomfortable with the scene, but said it had gone no further than other dramas that have tackled homosexuality including Brookside, Emmerdale and the BBC's EastEnders, which led the way in the 1980s with a storyline involving actor Michael Cashman.

Some viewers were concerned the issue of homosexuality had been introduced into the show at all, and some felt it was an inappropriate to show a gay kiss before the 9pm watershed, when children were watching.

But the ITC has ruled the storyline did not breach the programme code governing commercial broadcasters' schedules.

"The ITC is aware that some viewers do not wish to see any representation of homosexuality on television.

"Some parents are especially concerned that any overt behaviour, such as a kiss, should be featured before the 9pm watershed when children could be watching television," said the ITC in its latest complaints report.

"Although gay relationships have been shown for many years in other soaps, Coronation Street has always attracted an older audience, who may be less comfortable with this behaviour.

"Having viewed the scene, the ITC considered that the attempted kiss would not upset the majority of viewers.

"A young man's confusion with his sexuality, expressed in a clumsily and inexplicit manner, did not go beyond what has previously been seen in a drama at this time of the evening," the report concluded.

Peter so deserved that punch Shelly gave him! What a great ending tonight!

Square Eyes I was reading that thread about magazines in the lounge (I dont post on that forum but I sometimes read it) and noticed you mentioned Inside Soap - well you will be pleased to know next issue *should* be a Corrie cover as Tracey-love gets married to Roy Cropper! I am disgusted that Corrie and Emmerdale are almost being ignored on the front covers recently, since the new look inside soap launched at the Start of September 70% of the covers have been eastenders, 25% Corrie and only 5% Emmerdale, if this carries on then im not buying Inside Soap anymore! And Whats on TV and TV Quick are even worst - id say 95% of their covers are Eastenders.
