CI opted back into Spotlight midway during an interview from Coverack.

Apologies for being a few days late with this, and for it being pesky SD (even though Plymouth is capable of HD).

It's the end of Spotlight on 19/07/17, which happened to play out the longest version of their bespoke title music that I have heard so far. Very Happy

It was following the flooding in the village of Coverack in Cornwall. Nobody was injured, but these seem to be frequent events in Cornwall these days.

I left in the final comments from main presenter, Justin Leigh, as he was clearly rather emotional about the events regarding the helicopter rescue of a couple from their rooftop after the garden surrounding their house was washed away into the sea by the flood (at 1:20). (Edit . . . 1:04)

The video is only 1:20 long, so not sure which bit you mean.

My Bad! Laughing

I looked at the wrong part of the time code, it's 1:04 of the 1:20 minute video. It's the brief shots, beginning with the one with a MCA DOG.

Tonight is Mark McQuillan's final Channel Report (Sorry.... ITV News Channel TV.... or is it ITV News on Channel?).

It seems his next venture could be with ITV Central if this tweet by Steve Clamp is anything to go by.

6.28 to 6.58. 15 mins of news, then a pre-recorded segment from the event.

Mark Longhurst flying solo in the studio tonight.

Kylie Pentelow will be doing an OB from Weymouth beach later in the programme. A location decidedly not in the "HTV" sub-region (and literally at the edge of the "Westcountry" sub-region, where it meets/overlaps with Meridian)! Rolling Eyes

I assume that the Weymouth OB will live pan-regionally.

The lack of a "Live" bug on other throws/DTLs/OBs so far, confirms that the "HTV" sub-region is the pre-recorded one today.

(In the Sir Bruce Forsyth RIP thread)
ITV must record their preview within the regional news for the evening news quite early, as there was no mention of Bruce. Then again, I am watching the prerecorded programme in my subregion so maybe they recorded a newer one for the versions in subregions/regions that are broadcast live.

No mention of Brucie in the national news preview within ITV West Country (East/HTV subregion) either.

Assuming that the recorded subregions (hopefully) don't start to be pre-recorded any earlier than 17:00 *, and Brucie's death was made public around 16:35, I was a bit miffed at its lack of mention.

(*If they are recorded any earlier than that, then it's quite frankly was beyond ridiculous and hardly tallies with the "as-up-to-the-minute-as-possible" information that something purporting to be a "news" service should be delivering).

Did ITV have a newsflash about Brucie at any point in/around the programmes that were on between 16:30 and 18:00? If not, then we have the ridiculous situation that anyone who's been watching ITV for the last couple of hours or so (and not been exposed to any other news outlets, e.g. t'interweb) will still be totally unaware of Brucie's death at this very moment. Which is pretty pathetic.
