The only thing, the one and only thing stopping me from watching Sky one eleciton night is the presence of Adam Boulton. I'm not sure I've actually seen an interview where he's let the interviewee finish answering the question he posed to them.

He's never really recovered for me following that on-air meltdown with Alastair Campbell last time around. Very Happy

Westminster set is lovely. And I do like the window style screens showing the Sky News Centre in the main election set.

I wonder will the main studio get a new desk in the style of the desks being used in the two election studios?

Is this the one which "is going to be quite special and may just outdo the BBC bubble."?

Yes! It looks fantastic. A new desk, excellent lighting and colour and a big improvement on 2010.

It's a portacabin with a desk in. A desk which is far too big for the space. There's nothing "special" or "fantastic" about it.

[Just like the BBC "bubble" - although at least that has a decent window - but it won't be special or fantastic either]

What's with the dislike of Sky's glossier graphics? It's nice to have something different from the BBC and ITV's flatter graphics.

As a designer I guess I am a fan of the current trend of flat simple design, and look at the gloss and bevels on Sky, and just feel it is a bit dated. What doesn't help is Sky News and BBC News both using red and white as their strong brand colours. I'd like to see Sky use the blue a bit more with the on-screen graphics, and maybe use white for the backgrounds?

What about taking the desk and putting it in the Gherkin building, as it looks a little dated up there?

Well as I said its a big improvement on 2010 when the just had a marquee. I think the desk looks excellent and am glad to see they've made a much bigger effort this time round.

Regarding moving the main studio desk to the Gherkin, that just would not be possible due to the small size of their Gherkin studio.

I'd quite like to see them use Studio B permanently as an alternative studio, perhaps for Sunrise. This desk could then be used in there.

Sky are doing an election special from 7pm? So three hours of seeing party leaders cast their own votes because they're not allowed to show much else until the polls close?

Au contraire. Normal hour of rolling news from 1900 and then an hour-long documentary on the Nepal situation from 2000... so no election fatigue.

Thanks, I'm guessing that Aston on the screen grab of the new desk referred to yesterday not today?

The Sky News live YouTube stream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw4hmqVPe0E) is showing the Sky News HD logo in the top left corner rather than the usual Sky News logo today.
