I do think we'll see a new look for Sky News. We know that the backdrop we've seen from Kay Burley's Instagram is not the final versions, a new logo has already been shown prematurely on Sky Sports News (see below), the previous two refreshes were in May 2010 and May 2015 (and we're certainly a bit past May now), and I'd imagine it'd make more sense to make all the changes in one sweep, instead of making some on Tuesday and some in a few weeks or months.

I also felt the same on at least two occasions in the past where I spotted a lot of comparable hints that lead me believe they re going to relaunch but they eventually didn't.

I know some of these things have happened in the past, and haven't led to a new look, but I'm a bit more hopeful this time given that the Millbank studio has been re-done, other Sky channels have received fresh identities, and the previous refresh occurred 5 years after the preceding one.

It would make more sense overall presentation-wise, but at a time where reduced staffing is in place, other projects have been delayed / taking precedence, it might make more sense to do it one thing at a time. New shows now, graphics and music further down the road.

At least the package must have been finalised well before the C restrictions, when they originally intended to launch in May, so all is about the implementation now.

Yep... graphics existing in the Sky Creative computers and graphics going out on air requires them to be tested in a live environment, synced to multiple graphics machines across multiple sites, and all relevant gallery staff and live graphic designers to be trained in how they work. Could easily be a few months!

Has Sky News even had a full synchronized relaunch of titles, astons, music and studio at the same point since they moved to their (now old) news studio in 2005?

Still think the (fantastic) election package was a sign that there was a desire to modernise and do things differently. The current graphics have always felt like a poor evolution of the much better style that preceded them (lower thirds were much neater previously, especially when they reduced them in size and down to one line).

I thought the show was called Sky News @ Breakfast but on today's I noticed it just said Breakfast?

EPG for Tuesday states that Kay's new show is just called "Kay Burley".

Noticed this too, currently seems to be a mix of “Breakfast” & “@Breakfast” title cards going out.

I’m assuming that Monday-Friday 7am-10am is going to be simply “Kay Burley” (this is pretty much confirmed). With weekends, 6am-10am being referred to as “Sky News Breakfast” Or “Breakfast on Sky News”.

Considering Breakfast is so associated with the BBC Show; I think reintroducing Sunrise for at least the weekend shows would be best.
Stuart, Jory and Soupnzi gave kudos

Yep, but it wasn't 100% clear as it was being teased - at times - as "Kay Burley @Breakfast".

I still think they should have gone with 'Kay Burley at Sunrise' and kept Sunrise for weekends in the first place. Throwing away a thirty-year brand seemed unnecessary.

Sunrise for me wasn't the same once Eamonn Holmes left Sky News. The SJM/Niall partnership while solid wasn't the same, so I understand why the changed it to be focused on the most recognised name associated with the channel.
