Sky News Brexit-Free no longer needs a HD subscription on Sky, not sure if its FTV but works for me on the basic package.

Yes, FTV now.

Is Sky News itself overloading on Brexit as a result. Must say considering the supposed "deal" today and Mary being in Brussels the ITV Evening News almost seemed less Brexit dominated than usual, not that there was a particular story of note in the rest of the headlines.

Does the show World View with Dominic Waghorn still exist? Haven't seen it running for quite a while.

This Brexit-Free channel is quite good to watch to be honest. However does anyone know the justification for the broadcasting hours? 5-10pm weekdays only seems a little odd.

I would have thought something like 2pm to Midnight daily would be better? Especially now a deal has been agreed the main channel will be in full on “Brexit Crisis” mode now lol

Because 10 hours costs twice as much as 5 hours.

It's there as somewhat of a stunt, though not sure if it's a stunt that has attracted much attention outside of this forum. It got a few articles off the back of a press release on the day it launched but hasn't exactly caught attention.

I think the hours are due to it being a frequency sharing setup and the capacity is used for other services at other times.

Well it shares with Sky Sports Box Office HD and BT Sport Box Office HD Ireland, so they could probably broadcast more except some weekends for boxing. You would want to have a consistent schedule though and not a "sorry not on this weekend, maybe the next one". During the week though it should be free most of the time.

That said, someone did point out to me that there is already an upcoming clash: WWE Crown Jewel is supposed to be on Sky Sports Box Office at 5pm on the 31st - unless they plan to make it SD-only which I imagine will upset some people.

Decision's up to them, could have run it 24/7 if they wanted to (I suppose). I presume they're doing it as a temporary thing (since this service is only running up until the end of the month) and seeing how much of a demand it fills. They obviously think there's a demand:

A study released this summer found that a third of people are avoiding the news entirely. More than 70% of them blamed Brexit, saying they were too frustrated over the political debate surrounding it. Almost 60% said the news was having a negative impact on their mood, and 40% felt they felt powerless to influence events.

Presumably it has extra costs, after all the presenter isn't going to work for nothing for a start, but the key reports were already packaged for the main channel. I think it would be good to continue to run as Brexit isn't just going to vanish into the ether after October 31st, this will run for a while to come...

It appears the monitor wall in the glass box rebooted itself right as they were starting the newspaper review (forgot how they rebranded).
