Depends on context really. If it's not obvious that it's am or pm then use the 24 hour clock (
unless you make trailer endboards
)

Its sad that most Americans can't get their heads around 24 hour clocks. Has Pointless ever made it to America? You'd spend 45 minutes just explaining how the show works.
At one stage BBC Weather used the 12 hour am/pm format for their forecasts but changed to 24 hours because they said viewers didn’t know that 12am was midnight and 12pm was midday.

That could be said about base 10 units and a lot of things. Not all of America of course, it's known as 'military time' over there.

yeah the conversion is just something you sort of learn without realising. 15 is pronounced 3 and you don't give it a second thought.
that said in the UK we'd always use 15:00 whereas in some other european countries you'll often see 15 on its own.

Thanks, I have a digital clock (the kind that receives the atomic time from WWV Colorado), my iPhone and iPad are all set to 24 hours. I originally did it because of the BBC schedule times on the North American feed were given in the 24 hour format and I screwed up a few times on the conversion.

The World Service no longer uses the format "fifteen hundred hours, Greenwich Mean Time", but just "15 hours".
Having looked at that wikipedia article, it doesn't help that to stop confusion someone came up with the idea that as noon is neither am or pm, it would be indicated as 12m.
M for Noon obviously.

Not as odd as when you see the sort of times that are used for TV schedules internally which works on a clock that starts at 06:00 and ends at 29:59
