I thought the studios were big enough to have more than one set in? They stand all the time and don’t move about or have I misunderstood?
PMQs, The Budget, and all the best political news happens by Wednesday night, it will be live. The show will be over by midnight, and the studio team in TC2 will have 7/8 hours to get Lorraine's set ready, and it should be no problem, as TC2 manages to get the Loose Women set in and ready each weekday with less than 3 hours to get it done.

Studio 3 is, it has standing sets for both GMB and This Morning at opposite ends.
TC2 has modular sets for Lorraine and Loose Women which are struck and set between programmes

Only TC3 - which is larger than TC2 - runs 'set standing' as it has two permanent standing sets (GMB and This Morning have half the studio each)
TC2 is a much smaller studio than TC3 and runs 'set/strike' which means Lorraine is set, then Lorraine is struck, Loose Women is set, then Loose Women is struck. The two sets are designed to bet set and struck quickly, so a Peston set shouldn't be a major issue at the other end of the day.
Also with Peston now on a Wednesday, ITV Daytime have two consecutive dark days in TC2 each week (Sat and Sun). Wonder how long before other shows move in to fill that down time?

TC3 is set-standing though. There is no way they are going to strike GMB or This Morning's sets for a weekend show.
ITV may not have many magazine shows - but other channels might have, and there is no reason for them to be live weekend shows. Money is money after all... If ITV Daytime have a studio free for 2 days, better to get some financial return on it than not surely?

They have TC3 unused at the weekend also, but ITV don’t have a lot of live or magazine type programmes at the weekend.

Last I read it is now being broadcast from the same complex as BT Sport in East London.
Where does the football highlights come from now?

But, ITV do not own TC3, they are only subletting it, so wouldn't there be a problem if they did try to use/sell TC3 space over the weekend? It is not their studio to rent out. It is BBC Studioworks right?

If ITV Daytime have the studio on long term hire, sub-hiring it to ITV Sport (for example) should not be an issue for Studioworks.
It's not much different to when BBC Sport had a long term booking of TC5 and hired it out to RTE for coverage of a UK election.

ITV sub-hiring to another ITV division is fine, but ITV sub-hiring out to say Sky, Channel 4 etc would be another thing, which BBC Studioworks could claim a percentage of the money raised by the hiring out.
RTE is an Irish broadcaster, national broadcaster and the general election was just a one off event, not a weekly or daily hiring. Different thing. Also BBC owned TC5, they could do what they want with it back then.
