What ratings does Ridge get? I'd have thought the bulk of the hoovering was by Marr not Ridge?

Not enough to get into the Barb Top 10 for the channel. The most rated non-news bulletin shows are the evening Press Preview editions.

So fair to say that Ridge wasn't hoovering up that many ratings against Peston.

Even Sky's most rated programmes are all under 200,000.

I thought the Newsnight repeat on NC had been dropped?
Well, it did keep getting pre-empted.

Peston will air Wednesday 26th September at 10.45pm on ITV according to the ITV Press Centre today. I suspect UTV and STV will shift it to a later slot.

It will air 20 minutes later on STV, but at the same time as everywhere else on UTV

Peston says (from the Press Release) :

“And for those of you unaware why the show moved from Sunday to Wednesday, it was for no other reason than that the repeat of Peston on Sunday on Sunday nights was watched by twice as many people as the morning live show. So I and ITV thought we should convert it into a proper night time show. I could not be more pleased to be broadcasting after News at Ten on arguably the most important political day of the week."

So it's a slightly altered Lorraine set. That's probably the reason why she got the huge video wall in her set and I suppose it's the most flexible set.

Is it going out live or pre-recorded earlier in the evening?

I really can't see it being recorded. It'd need to be reactive to breaking press stories as Thursday's papers publish around 10pm. Otherwise it'd have egg on face.

Especially on Wednesday where they are big political stories which are front pages on all the papers - the Budget in November for example. The press reaction to them is crucial to the success or failure of a budget.

PMQs, The Budget, and all the best political news happens by Wednesday night, it will be live. The show will be over by midnight, and the studio team in TC2 will have 7/8 hours to get Lorraine's set ready, and it should be no problem, as TC2 manages to get the Loose Women set in and ready each weekday with less than 3 hours to get it done.
