I'm sure a message from cricketer Joe Root and Yorkshire writer Kay Mellor meant more to John and Gaynor than a message from Christa Ackroyd!

I grew up over that side of the Pennines. It’s always sad to see presenters you grew up with leave. My first memory of Gaynor was on ‘it’s a vets life’.

One would argue they worked closely with Christa and Geoff plus they had Don Ridell at CNN.
I’m not saying they can’t have celebrity messages (although I do think some celeb messages for local news readers to be a bit cringe) I just thought big names of the past such as Christa might have recorded something.
