I usually go with UK coverage and then also follow the results online but decided to give CNN a go this time around and then see what the US networks were up to. Given the US news media's like for talking heads and debates, I thought that this was probably going to be more of the same. But it was so refreshing just to have a relatively no nonsense presentation of the results in such detail. So I ended up sticking with it for pretty much the entirety of the night.

John King at the magic wall is a maestro as well - far too often can touch screens end up looking like a gimmick and clunky but he's one smooth operator, clearly knows his stuff and it feels as though there's nothing he can't tell you.

The only downside was Wolf Blitzer constantly saying "let's get a key race alert" which seemed like a strange and robotic thing to say when you wouldn't say something like "let's get a news flash". A little bit more variety would have been nice but I know that his presentation style is very matter of fact so perhaps not surprising.

What’s funny about this widespread coverage on BBC One, is that it’s basically a BBC World simulcast, with none of the biggest national news names involved. If they were planning on running it this long on the main channel, I’m surprised Huw Edwards wasn’t involved at some stage

BBC One viewers will also be wondering where Matthew Amroliwala has appeared from, as they won’t have seen in him years and will have assumed that he’d left the BBC

The only familiar face is reeta chakrabariti. I don’t think many people will mind tough.

Poor Steve Kornacki. He does the data wall analysis for MSNBC. And has been at it for hours....Thought this was kinda light-hearted comment from fellow MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi.

They could have said ‘we now say goodbye to viewers on BBC One’ rather than the programme just ending

Ros Atkins having to correct an OS interviewee there twice and tell her that no, there isn't any evidence of widespread voter fraud, and reiterating it after the end of the interview too. What a time to be alive...

It may be the next day and the full figures are still not in but we might be able to call a result - ITV won last night, in peak figures at least. 1.2m Vs 0.9m, and 241k for Sky.

Also worth pointing out the first "part" of ITV's coverage on EPGs and the like was from 11-12, whereas the Beeb was 11.30-2, so the average for those won't be very accurate comparisons.

This is the first time I've watched CNN properly in about 10 years or something. Still got the same weird adverts for African banks and lists of hotels that carry CNN which feels very outdated now. Loads of travel adverts too which feels odd during Corona and a lot more filler segments than I remember.

Their coverage was a little annoying to begin with last night but I've stuck with it and it's been quite good.

Yes, that was my thought too. Is it a side-effect of following domestic's break pattern are they always like this?

Am now wondering what each network will do when they call the winner. I'm hoping for tickertape.
