Which floor is the News department on?

Finally found it. https://goo.gl/maps/xzcueyxGFXe7XBoR7

Is that Sophie Raworth presenting BBC World News in N8?

How do I get to N9 from N8?

God that studio looks like crap.

Yes, N8 and N9 certainly didn't look great in real life. Both were essentially converted office space, so weren't proper studios as such. At least N6 and TC7 were proper studios.

It looks as though they’ve rented out a space in a random companies office and whacked a studio in the middle of it.

Looks like Sophie Raworth to me. Maybe she was asked to sit at the desk to pose for the camera?

Edit. If you move around, there's a side on shot without the face blurred and it looks very much like her.

It's definitely a stand-in, whoever it is. Note the lack of laptop on the desk...

This was February 2013 - World had moved in January. If you take a look at N8's gallery at https://maps.app.goo.gl/DigpCQJAzBjfX3Tg9 , you'll note that (a) it's empty and (b) you can see the new style ticker on the off-air monitor.
I seem to remember the gallery was left powered up for a few months after World vacated it, presumably as a hot spare.

Loving this treat on Google Maps! What better way to spend self isolation!

Here's TC7: https://www.google.com/maps/@51.5102482,-0.2268853,2a,75y,203.15h,69.7t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1stjucoMIYv6PU_8BGitVCHg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

N9 is through the double doors.

There’s a reflection of her too opposite the desk if you can tell from that. Also the studio is surprisingly dirty, top of the cameras especially noticeable. And it’s shocking how poor condition the set is in, particularly under the world map. Glad they got a new studio.

The small desk in the corner, what was that area used for? I remember it being used for sport on news 24.

Oops, corrected.
I could never find N9 in real life - on the rare occasions I did manage to stumble upon it, my pass didn't let me in.

It was used for some generic bbc world news bulletin whilst the themed programmes came from the main set iirc

Whoever it is, she is sitting in the second presenters position (usually Biz or Sport). Doesn’t look like Deborah to me, Rob. Wonder where she is now.........?

Other suggestions: Karin Giannone, Joanna Gosling.

The back pillar and back wall lighting colour could often be a clue to the strand being presented. That pillar and the internal back wall (inside the newsroom) would change colour depending on the programme brand: red (The Hub), Orange (Impact Asia), Deep Blue (Business Edition and WBR) and purple-ish for WNT with Zeinab.

The colour I’m seeing in this still would seem to be a generic daytime bulletin, possibly the 5-8am strand with the regular biz inserts.

Now, you’re getting carried-away, James........

If you go into the newsroom in Google Maps on that link above, you will see a clock that says "3.50" . I presume it means afternoon as there's daylight outside so that could be a clue?

If you go into the N8 newsroom, you'll notice all the studio lights are off. And as others have pointed out, in the gallery you can see NBH on the off air feed.

For mainly sport updates plus occasional news bulletins.
