It has been known to happen before, most amusingly with Simon McCoy and his dash.
Normally its the opposite of that, presenter standing when the sitting template is used.

Just happened to have the News Channel on, and the opening remarks on
Outside Source
were along the lines of an explanation as to why it's on an hour earlier this week only, because of the clocks changing.
What's that about? Maybe I'm missing something but why should the time anywhere else relative to the UK matter to the scheduling on the BBC News Channel?

It's also on an hour early in most of the world, with the exception of the Americas.

The clocks change in the U.S. next week, meaning World News America is currently at 9 o'clock our time. Outside Source has also moved forward an hour accordingly.

Its because of World News America, they have to move back to 21:00 when the clocks go back in the UK.
Before OS began on WN and NC, Business Edition and WNA swapped places. So Business Edition aired at 22:00, that would make OS clash with the News at Ten so instead OS and WNA swapped this time.
A general BBC World News bulletin is broadcast at 22:00.
The clocks change in America this weekend apparently, so all the timings will return to normal, I think

Considering that World News America is produced primarily for the U.S. market, it wouldn't make much sense to shift it according to the EU's daylight saving time schedule.
So the rest of the world has to play to America's tune.

Because WNA is aired on other stations in the US at 17:00 ET, it has to be at 21:00 GMT this week.
The only other option would be to do it live at 21:00 only for those stations and delay it on BBCWN until 22:00 after Outside Source, but then you'd need a studio on standby between 22:00 and 23:00 for any breaking news.

Isn't WNA produced in London with the Washington studio essentially being a really fancy down the line position? (An outside source if you will...) So that would require staffing an extra gallery - there isn't the money for that.
It's mildly irritating (and Monday was very unlucky) but it's only for a week1
So is it not possible for World News in America to take a different feed and opt out of Outside Source?
