Think the weekend news ratings depend a lot on what they follow or are followed by. Similarly for Bank Holiday ratings.
If they are close to a major and very popular show they will usually do well. It isn't the news itself that gets ratings at the weekends, its the inheritance or early switch-over.

Dont weekend news programmes get fairly high ratings though? And I can't see any scheduler scheduling BBC One programmes so that a (in comparison) little watched news channel can hit the TOTH.
