Dont weekend news programmes get fairly high ratings though? And I can't see any scheduler scheduling BBC One programmes so that a (in comparison) little watched news channel can hit the TOTH.

Think the weekend news ratings depend a lot on what they follow or are followed by. Similarly for Bank Holiday ratings.

If they are close to a major and very popular show they will usually do well. It isn't the news itself that gets ratings at the weekends, its the inheritance or early switch-over.

Polite Public Notice: Further discussion of the colour of studio E's red paneled lighting as has cropped up yet again is now banned. This is a dull, repetitive and now answered question and further inane discussion of it adds nothing of value.

A BBC News special on the refugee crisis on the NC and BBC One at 1930 with Huw.

Not to sure about the placing of the logo, even it being the old 2008 logo that they used

That's actually the 'News Review of the Year' theme.

I don't think I've seen Huw presenting from Studio B before.

I don't normally watch the shows that use studio b on BBC World and when Lyse Doucet did a year end special I could have swore she filmed it in the virtual studio. With certain shot blocking the screen actually looks curved (like in the second photo) which made me think it was virtual.

Maybe my eyes are playing a trick on me but it looks like that the catwalk here slopes down to the ground for wheelchair access.
