I'm not concerned about which characters in particular they are using, more the fact that the BBC are using commercial characters (i.e. not their own) of any kind in such a way that it comes across as advertising, especially as these are children's characters on a video from the BBC's youth radio station.
I just thought it was funny. And impressive continuity considering where all those studios are.
I presume this was filmed sometime during the 5, before they started rehearsal.
Isn't the BBC supposed not to show adverts, or how should I define this kind of promotion?
I believe the phrase is "undue prominence", which in my opinion this would come under. Unless anyone can explain why it isn't?
I'm curious how is this any different than having a movie star coming out and talking about their movie for ten minutes? This was a different way to get people talking about the movie while cross promoting BBC shows.
Looks like the graphics machine at the news channel is having a wobble. There was no Live bug for this interview, and lower thirds graphics have all dropped off the screen now too.
