Just catching up with Under the Dome, Monday 13th July 22:00 began with a Christmas Ident, Reindeer flying across the screen with a snow ball in the bottom right corner!!

We might as well move Christmas to July at this rate!

They'd only start showing Yuletide programming at Easter! Shocked

Clearly Channel 5 'wish it could be Christmas everyday' (or from October at least).

Channel 5 have commissioned 'The Saturday Show', a two hour cookery and chat show with Matt Barbet and Gaby Roslin between 0930-1130.

The programme will be produced Channel 5's favourite cheap tv company Princess Productions.

So they'll just take the 4 logo off the wall and do a Saturday edition of Sunday Brunch?

Interesting choice of presenters

It's not the first time Roslin has done a daytime format for C5. She co-presented The Terry and Gaby show which tanked.

I think its great that Channel 5 are investing in the weekend schedule. Hopefully, with Matt presenting it will have a slight news edge to it, maybe a look at the mornings newspapers and headlines. Definately something I will watch!

EDIT: It seems that "topical discussion" will be part of the show.

Quote:
Coming soon to Channel 5, The Saturday Show presented by Matt Barbet and Gaby Roslin. The live two-hour magazine show will include topical discussions about the day and week just gone, celebrity panel and guests, a weekly news round-up and items to get your weekend off to a flying start.

Matt and Gaby will be joined by three celebrity guests every week to discuss the day's news, chat to the people who have dominated the week's headlines and discuss the juicy stories which have made the nation's ears burn. The show will also include unmissable TV and latest films to stream for the weekend and the week ahead. With a live format, viewers will be guaranteed up to the minute topicality. The presenters and their guests will always debate and discuss the subjects which reflect what the nation is talking about and look forward to the week ahead. Each week, the show will address the big trends in the world of showbiz, politics, food and drink, health and fitness and there will even be some cooking.

What's on the web will also be a focus of the show. Viewers will enjoy a round-up of all the best clips, photos, quizzes and memes that have had the internet buzzing.

Another C5 daytime format that emulates already successful formats on better resourced channels. Even ITV got rid of the awful Saturday Cooks.

Another? What other daytime format is an emulation of a successful format on so-called better resourced channels?
