Is that definite or just speculation; just asking not criticising?

And a major loss John Stapleton leaving. TV-AM, GMTV, Daybreak and GMB, a veteran of all four.

Wish they'd reset back to how the show was when it started. How are the ratings holding up? Did the move to the current format make any difference to this?

I'd be interested to see a breakdown of ratings against all the incarnations of GMB, Daybreak and the latter days of GMTV. Have there actually been any changes made where ratings have gone up?

When I think of oily rags I think of reliable sauces. I'm not sure why.

Anoilyrag has been very generous with what they've been able to share over the years and are a reliable source to this forum.

It is a shame that John went out with no fanfare. It would be lovely of he could appear as a guest to say goodbye, but as has been said he may have wanted to leave with no fuss.

The biggest setback for John was the loss of Penny Smith. Her and John during the GMTV Newshour had a great connection and they understood each other well. He was a great reporter when he was out on OB'ss but as a presenter he definitely wasn't the same without Penny.

Either way it's a big loss.

1st September probably, because they'll probably be showing CITV on the 31st as it's a bank holiday.

It's not a Bank Holiday in Scotland. They took the Late Summer one on 3 August.

They don't tend to pay any attention to that - although they didn't broadcast on the 2nd January this year which is a bank holiday in Scotland. I assumed that was due to the studio refresh.

First show that originates (partly!) from a breaking news OB? This should really have happened in the first few weeks...

I wouldn't be surprised if One Direction's recent announcement of their split makes their top story tomorrow and the air crash being the second.

Kate and Ranvir both went to Paris to cover the Charlie Hebdo attacks in January and Susanna went to Afghanistan last year to cover British soldiers leaving.

I'm away so I can't actually watch the show, is Susanna back? If not who is in the studio?
