Just watching business news live this morning, don't you think that the colours look much better then the BBC news red,

The business news in the UK is red because the light boxes on the catwalk cannot be changed like they can in World's studio. So it's red or red in studio E.

They can be changed, we've had this discussion many times, there are images of them in other colours. The fact they are red when turned off is the same in Studio B, C and D and Glasgow and Cardiff.

What is that image showing as regards your point, other than the LED screen in front of the desk with colour bars on it?

That the lightboxes can change colour from red - Hence why one is yellow rather than red.

Ah right, I can spot what you mean now.

The reflection you can see just above it suggests to me it's actually red, but over-exposed in that shot.

Is the desk in that shot the one they actually use in Studio E, just with those panel things in front of them? I've always thought that it looks much more like the original desk from the BBC Sport Centre than the one used now, but I could be wrong.

I am pretty sure other then the circular bit, Studio E is pretty much red and thats it really, unlike Studio B and C you can light them any scheme, on Impact they change the entire colour scheme sometimes on the next report, that is really cool.

The only thing I'm glad for is that they stay away from blue. I hated the news back in the day when everything was blue. Such a cold and dreary colour. Red is such a nicer, warmer, brighter colour.

I'm pretty sure that it is technically possible to light them any colour. When switched off they appear the same in all studio's a horrible brown colour.* Studio B (Uploaded by DTV)

Our very own Worzel told Ros to give a tour of the newsroom, showing us Huw in Studio E, then the editors in the centre of the newsroom and the gallery to finish with Ros on the balcony.

Yes. Smile

Were the editors always based in the centre of the newsroom, or were they moved as part of the newsroom reshuffle last weekend?

Does anyone else think there is more background noise on the newsroom down the line point or am I imagining it?

Presumably a rejig in the newsroom has to take into account how it impacts the DTL point plus weather balcony as well as how it looks on screen and that's all before the politics of moving people around.

Bit of a problem with the cameras in Studio C for News at Five at the start of the weather with Louise Lear, one of the cameras was right in front of her and the camera required for the weather was not in the correct position, Huw suggested they have a chat whilst the cameras sort themselves out!
