Don't see the hate for this at all.

It's something different for the BBC. Victoria is perfectly likeable.

Rolling news isn't needed in the same volume anymore. BBC News, ITV News and Sky News all have good apps which are readily available. A lot of people would just check the BBC News app if they wanted headlines, instead of watching the BBC News channel.

The issue isn't so much about the show being on BBC Two, it's more about the show running to the NC's service licence. VD has also lost share on the NC to Sky News, which shows while rolling news isn't a massive draw, there is a core audience who prefer that format instead of Derbyshire's female skewed misery magazine format.

And they other thing going against the show is that they carry on as normal when a big story is breaking which doesn't sit well at all.

I think that (When Breaking News happens) is they should at least have the NC Pull away from VD and either cut to someone in either studio E (bearing in my mind the prep for 11-2 shift would be happening whilst VD is on) or to World (like Tuesday's Nepal Earthquake should have done.)

ETA:Another reason going against it-Yesterday's rating

09:15 - Victoria Derbyshire: 0.08m (1.7%)

and this is without the NC Figure although i'm guessing that will be low as well.

Awfully nice of Victoria Derbyshire show to cut out from Harriet Harman's speech today. Over to Sky News it is then!

And they still had time to show a 'lovely film' from Radio 1 Newsbeat.

Joanna Gosling filled in again for Victoria on Friday's episode. Handled well.

Good to see that they pulled away from a story about Guantanamo Bay to show a press conference from FIFA. Victoria apologised to her interviewee and said she will return to them but instead the press conference was shown through the end of the program. The NC opted out of VDP presentation and returned to generic graphics while Victoria closed the show on just BBC Two.

Here, Here-And the sooner that happens and they bring back the Morning shift (and by that i mean 9:00-11:00 from E and not merging with World.) the better. I don't care what budget cuts are needed this progamme shouldn't be on the schedule-At all.

My minds a little foggy but are you saying the program ended for the press conference on on NC and BBC Two? Surely there could be a way for them to continue the program on Two and run news on NC.

At 10.30 BBC Two continued the BBC One daytime programming (or at least Homes Under the Hammer)

Evidently there is a way but for whatever reason they decided not to, as the Victoria graphics neatly animated off screen on the NC to leave just the normal BBC News graphics present, with the press conference continuing without interruption, whilst there was a proper close on BBC Two.

Incidentally the Derbyshire programme was scheduled to finish at 10.30am today anyway, with the State Opening of Parliament simulcast on BBC One and the NC starting at 10.30am.
