They can get Joanna, Julian or even Mr Blobby. The format is still a stinker.

James Harding (Director of News) really needs to stop deluding himself and accept the fact that the progame hasn't worked and needs to go ASAP

The only delusion is on your part. Not a fan by any measure but It'll still be there in 12 months. Nobody outside this forum gives a damn about what's on a little watched news channel at 9.15 in the morning.

Although they'd rightly presume that a rolling news channel would be showing rolling news…

I take it Victoria doesn't do Fridays then.

Or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday going by this week. Thought Madame would at least stay on the show for the first three months to bed the show in?

Is a gallery required to output the 9:30 half-hour on Fridays following World News Today? After half past we had a headline summary that I assume WN also took, up until the point the presenter trailed what was coming up at Ten, before going to Newswatch, and then at 9:45 we went to the BBC Sport Centre for a trail of what was coming up on Sportsday, with the Sport presenter also linking into the Film Review.

News Channel has no presentation areas so everything has to go through a gallery somewhere

Whilst it is definitely true that there is no News Channel pres area, I'm not sure that is technically true that everything has to go through a gallery.

AIUI it is possible to route directly to the News Channel outgoing circuits independently of a gallery - so you could route an incoming OS or a replay source to line without it going through a gallery. (The same was true at TVC but was much trickier - mainly because it was done so infrequently)

Harding ...

. ´The reason I think that is that what we were trying to do was to make a television programme that would live beyond television.'

Now if that isn't a lot of spherical objects I don't know what is. BBC management are so completely disconnected with reality.

You can imagine a W1A style meeting about how they'd devise the mess that is the mid-morning NC show.
