Xmas 2015-and i'll keep changing the prediction until the announcement is finally made and then i'll be getting the flags out-no matter how long it takes!
This thread puzzles me, given there's a fair few people who absolutely hate the show and think it's utterly wrong for the NC to broadcast it - and yet they still seem to be watching it regularly. And surely no-one can claim they're forced to watch it at work, given the reports about how offices across the nation have been switching to Sky News.
Sat down and watched the first 45 minutes today, first time I've watched it properly, and I really don't think it's a bad programme, but should really be on BBC2 only unless they can properly keep to time (headlines at 10:06! and the first two were items from earlier in the show) and amend the schedule to cover breaking news. I don't mind if parts of the programme are then later shown on the news channel throughout the day.
The NC ticker clearly has its own editor for the show and it's very wordy, even more than usual for the NC. The ticker should be as brief as possible.
Perhaps a silly idea, but I wonder if there's a case for Sky Sports News HQ HD style graphics to make up for the lack of rolling news on the News Channel?
This reminds me of some hopeless gossip columnist in the News of the World or the Mirror or something like that who said the Spice Girls were splitting up in about 1997, and then every time they mentioned the Spice Girls for the next two years when they caried on doing stuff, they would say, "The Spice Girls, who I exclusively revealed are splitting up". And eventually when they did split, they crowed about having announced it first. All bands split up and all shows end at some point.
I can't understand why every single mention of Derbyshire seems to include the word "misery". I see it mentioned on numerous forums and it's not even a very common word so I assume it's the same few people saying it everywhere. And in any case, of course her programmes feature a lot of bad news, all news programmes do - news is generally bad. That's why it's news. Frank Gardner and Robert Peston's reports hardly generate much laughter but they don't get slagged off for providing "misery".
