Did Carol present any weather on the news channel before 9am?

Yes, she did a weather bulletin just before the 9am TOTH bulletin.

So theres also a cut in the weather department.

Just put this on at 10am, the weather over-ran, VD did the news headlines at 1003, so anyone dipping in for news would have missed out and tuned into Sky News or one of the international channels.

In effect, the NC closes down at 0915 to pander to BBC Two's audience.

Finally a very short sports bulletin from Salford from a different area.

Headlines done by Victoria herself with no other presenter in E which is what I was thinking

So that three minutes was the news content then?!

I disagree with the assertion that there were no viewers for the channel's rolling coverage. The News Channel is Britain's most watched, ahead of Sky by a long way. Those viewers will surely not feel that this fulfils their needs.

I could be wrong but did Carol Kirkwood (or whoever was doing the Breakfast weather forecasts) used to go on to present the BBC News Channel weather forecasts until 10am pre-Victoria Derbyshire?

Carol always presented from 0600 to 1000, unless she was doing an outside broadcast on Breakfast.

Whoever was rostered on the early morning forecasts on Radio 4 then covered from 1000 to 1200 (or from 0830 if Carol was on an outside broadcast on Breakfast).

I think we can safely ignore those few moaning that their crappy rolling news is gone so they've been forced to watch Sky.

Oh that's good. Everything's OK then. Those viewers who tune into the BBC News Channel for rolling news - as has been the case for the last 18 years - don't matter at all.

No they dont... which is why the BBC have decided to replace that rolling news with this programme.

Oh right, I see. Do excuse me then while I just crawl back into my box and keep my mouth shut.

The audience area seems very crowded. Victoria's delivery is identical to her 5 Live show.

It really does feel that VD and her ex producer are attempting to do 5 Live on tv and by large failing.

That logo in the bottom left really is a terrible piece of graphic design. Completely blends into any light background which makes it look like a stain on the screen. And just to make it worse, it rotates through the worst colour scheme they could come up with.

Jesus Christ, if I wanted ill informed political debate I'd go to the pub. Only the debate in a pub would be a lot more interesting.

This really has no place on BBC2 or the news channel - BBC2 has no daytime budget and the news channel is there for news. Also, the exclusives are pretty poor and are hardly going to make real news.

There's an election campaign going on, and on the News Channel I'm being forced to watch a 15 minute film about transgendered children. This is appalling.

Firstly, get a grip. Seriously

Secondly, unless you're in a home and the telly is in a locked box and you have to ask your carer to turn it over... you aren't being forced to watch anything

Thirdly, it may be 'appalling' to you but I'm sure to many it's 'thank goodness for something not election related'.

I'm sure both of them will just have to live with it.
