I believe that BC is likely to be occupied by the BBC et al. until 2020 under current plans, though obviously things can change.

The huge imminent restructuring of BBC Productions could trigger a major downsizing though, reducing office-space requirements significantly, as the BBC appears to march towards being Channel 4 with News...

Isn't the plan for BBC Productions to make programmes for others though? Depending on how that takes off it could mean they need more space?

In theory yes...

It is rumoured to have cost £50 million moving the CCA to the broadcast centre which is mind bogglingly stupid since they are flogging the freehold for that fairly soon.

That's a straw man - there's very little CCA kit in the Broadcast Centre, and most of what's there is monitoring and control that was designed to be easy to shift elsewhere.

CCA was in dire need of a tech refresh anyhow - and the way the BBC like to spend money, £50m is probably what they'd have managed to spend on it even if they were staying in TVC

And CCA didn't just move to the Broadcast Centre. It went into two locations

What does the replacement for CCA do now? That isn't intended to be a facetious question, but I thought a fair amount of their work was dealing with outside sources for programmes being made in TC studios, which is presumably handled by whichever studio provider is being used now?

That would have been just a small bit of what they did - only a few programmes in the main TV Centre studios had outside sources into them.

Though I suppose those programmes that were once in TC studios are now OS's into CCA!

CCA is still the delivery point for live programmes on the BBC channels - be that by fibre (via BT Tower or otherwise) or satellite. They line up with an engineer in CCA before being passed over to Red Bee's engineers. They also switch circuits between regional centres on the RAMAN network; operate BBC Scotland's CTA; are the UK's main gateway into the EBU network; and satellite operations do uplinks and downlinks for various bits of the Beeb.
Despite the lack of TVC studios, I'd imagine it's still a busy operation. Election night ought to be interesting!

I believe that CCA still handle contributions into studio shows made at BBC Elstree and Elstree Film, so that's 4 studios worth to handle still?

On the plus side, The entrance to Stage 6 is looking a bit less gloomy now that it's refurbished and back in use by BBC Worldwide.

Just been inside BBC WW's new HQ. It looks incredible, a completely transformed space. The centre where the lifts were has been completely opened up to create a very impressive atrium. Was only in the basement next to the nice looking cafe but judging by the what I could see from the floors try and imagine it as being similar to the office space you see in NBH on W1A but in a Stage 6 shape.

The rest of TVC really is a building site now, big fences up so you can't see much. Poor old East Tower still has a few lights on. Interestingly the multi-storey car park is back open, presumably just for construction workers before it's demolished although it did have a fancy(ish) sign above the entrance which was surprising for something that's presumably not going to be there for much longer.
