Maybe because of the such good response from everyone. Probably continuity people too.
We aren't everyone.
So you thought the continuity people loved the Windows?
Probably not. I'm just wondering who the "everyone" who gave this "good response" are. Have any surveys been done of the public? Any letters been written into PoV?

Not necessarily surveys. More of a general mood about it.

Might have been a regular quick bumper back in the days of double bills of The Simpsons too, the second one never had a seperate ident and would be a bumper like the above.
There are just so many different idents in this collection that I doubt that I've seen most of the idents. Many haven't been recorded which means they are lost in history.
The 90s one were simply better than the windows ones and the personality ones that followed them. More imaginative. More funny. More memorable.
I doubt that most BBC2 viewers have noticed that the old ones are back.
If I were the controller, I'd ditch the BBC TWO box entirely. It doesn't fit in. Just let the 2s do their thing. We all know the name of the channel. The 2s provide the channel with a very strong image and identity all by themselves.
Maybe have BBC TWO boxes for trailers etc, if the corporate identity gestapo insists on it.
I'd rather the BBC went back to numerals for BBC1, BBC2 etc. It'd be less cumbersome than spelling out the number as a word. A fourth box after the B, B, and C (similar to the style of the sixties and seventies) maybe in teal for 2, red for 1 etc.
