BBC Christmas presentation

What has been posted? The only reference to the idents being posted here, was info from the Child Model Agency who supplied the children in the Idents. Not about who created them.

Definitely rekindled my love of presentation!

Although I quite like these, I must be alone in actually preferring last year's set. In recent years idents have tended to become a lot more elaborate, which is why to many, the last two years' worth seemed rather a let down after what they had become accustomed to in previous years.

Personally, I prefer simpler idents that don't have long build-ups (which is why I prefer the 2009 re-edits of the idents to the 2006 originals), and last year's felt more reminiscent of Christmas idents from the 80s and 90s. They were nicely festive and I don't see the problem with them - other than that they were brought into use much too early, just like this year!

I recommend keeping an eye on BBC TWO. Why? Because they used the 1998 Christmas ident into 50 Golden Years of Sport on BBC Two .

Complete with original logo. How odd. I still really like the 2011 Christmas set, all elements fit together beautifully.

look at the tv listings there not alot of classic shows over the coming week.

The idents don't seem to work as well with the music volume turned down. Duncan lowered the volume this morning to introduce Fern Britton Meets and the ident didn't seem to be as effective. I wish all continuity announcers would allow us to hear the music - otherwise what's the point of having idents with music created attached to them?

Nice find Cavan. Shame they're not using that ident full-time really, it fits in much better with the current "retro" pres:

Very nice idents this year.

Few niggles, one is that the circle theme limits things here, the circular cluster of trees on the end shot would look much better if the trees were spread out imo.

The music definitely needs toning down for the News ident. It's a bit grand and over the top for just a very short junction into the news.

And the Strictly ident doesn't really work for me. There's nothing very 'strictly-esque' about it apart from the mirrorball tree.

Other than that they're the best set for quite a few years, seems quite reminiscent of the 2006 Snowball ident with people coming together.

I think that 50 Years bug is probably gone from the retro idents now. After all, after Christmas, it'll no longer be their 50th anniversary year. So come January, I'm expecting the retro idents to just have the current static logo in the corner.

Completely agree. I think the circle would have been better overhead, despite what people have said. And the Strictly one is probably the weakest of the set.
