So, just to clear it up, there are four symbols:

Doctor Who
The Great British Bake Off
Strictly Come Dancing
News

Do you know if there are long and short variations of those idents, or is it just those four idents? Thanks Smile

Wales played a different one, compared with Network and NI, based around a fairy. I presume that's the third one.
That's interesting as I thought the third would have been based on a Strictly tree.

That was the Strictly ident. You can view it on BBC1 Wales here. I've recorded it and hope to get a video online soon.

I'm being critical here not because they are bad, but because they are good.

If there are long and short versions it's shameful the BBC launched them with a short version of the Doctor Who ident. The build up focused on the individual trees is the best part, so to just air it for a few seconds after airing about 73 back to back promos is ridiculous - usually the debut gets a nice long play out.

The GBBO version with the longer build up worked much better IMO - think the music is pretty good and I do like the concept. However I do think the end reveal is rather weak and letting down these idents - IMO it would be better to end either by scanning up the tree to a shining star, or panning out to reveal the individual tree as the focus of the ident, with the BBC One logo moved to the bottom if needs be. (And for those who point out neither a star or tree is circular shape, neither is their arrangement of trees!)

Bah humbug! Lol! Smile

Just seen the Strictly tree ident from BBC Wales. Wow! that is stunning.

...Was expecting it ending on an aerial view, what they did instead was a surprise. Worked well.

Yes, the form up is very imaginative. It works tremendously well.
It is what we didn't expect. An aerial view at the end would be very obvious, this is different and looks good.

It's a shame it wasn't used tonight to lead into Strictly.

Strictly Fairy has just been shown into The National Lottery... unfortunately I didn't get that one, but I've brought the Wales equivalent...

This is from the junction into Casualty Smile

Here's the third ident, for Strictly Come Dancing, broadcast before The National Lottery Live at 9.50pm.

A lovely idea - these are much nicer symbols than the past couple of years IMO, possibly up there with the best of this era...
Jonny and bilky asko gave kudos

Is it just me or is the red tree in the final form-up has been (quite badly) coloured red in post-production? I can't quite tell as I'm not watching in HD, but it does look a little odd to me.

I have to say though, it's a much better effort than recent years (one of the best of the Circles era). The quite understated music should grow on one, as it were, quite nicely as opposed to grating after a week or two.

I like that BBC Wales sting.

P.S. Those two Youtube screenshots illustrate perfectly what I was saying - the individual tree is much better as a holding image at the end of the ident than the group of trees IMO.
