It does seem that only the awful 40 sec promo is getting used. The money seems to be on it reappear hopeful on Saturday!

By awful do you mean that the end board is awful? Because I think the promo is quite nice, and thought and effort scouring the archive went into it...

1min Promo is good, but this 40 sec is a hack job, it just feels disjointed, and is missing something.

How interesting would it be if that image was the end board after a programme trailer was shown. Certainly a big departure from the boring full red screen with logo in the centre.

Nothing wrong with the red wipe-in, in fact it looks fresher than the current "short" idents, despite being three years older.
But yes, that would be a sight to see http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/forum/smilies/eek.gif

I get the feeling that this is going to be a good one... thank god! Wonder what the music will be like... ?

Yes well done you have the BBC One font. Please stop using it at every possible opportunity.

Long version of the promo was on at 6am when I woke up for work this morning. Nice surprise as I no longer visit here that often.

Also it looks like some trees are programme specific. There's a Strictly Come Dancing one with a glitterballon the top and a blue Doctor Who TARDIS tree.

Yep, and there'll be one more - for a very popular BBC One show which won't actually be on the channel over Christmas.

Oh that's intriguing! Sherlock anyone? Very Happy Reminds me of all the years of Lee Mack being in BBC1 Christmas trails when he wasn't on at Christmas! Laughing

They look rather nice. Let's just hope there aren't kids dancing around them!

Ahem! Very Happy

Splitting The Two Ronnies up in the shorter trailer is outrageous! You can't have Ronnie C start the catchphrase and Ronnie B not finish it! NO! NO! NO!

Are these the trees?

It would certainly seem so. They're on other Twitter slides too

So there's our element of red and, by the looks of it, our circle too Laughing

These endboards remind me of the 2010 cul-de-sac. Those were nice.
FrancisIdents, Charlie Gough and fanoftv gave kudos
