The idea of a 17:30 programme is good. The only problem is will anyone be home in London to see it?
It could be said why C5 schedule their main bulletin at 5pm, but it pulls in a decent audience for that timeslot.
Another thing I noticed was the lack of easyjet orange with the Evening News logo. I wonder if all the news programmes will get a slight tweak on Monday?

Here's the final part of NOTS, they played the trailer for the new programmes from Monday, then Scodie signs off with a montage of the 'best' of the show.

That montage was very well done, highlights the show was a trainwreck.

My guess is they're doing a 'Channel 5' with the news output during the peak and shunting it to 6pm means they can show entertainment earlier.
If that's the case, I don't see why they can't just swap the two new programmes around. The Evening Show would provide a lighter alternative to the BBC and ITV regional news from 6-7, and the news would be an alternative to the soaps and chat elsewhere at 7.
I normally get in from work between 6 and 7, and often the telly doesn't go on until 7 - so I'd be in the market for local news at 7.

Isn't the thing in London that due to long commutes and long working hours, few are home for traditional regional news at 6pm?
So surely in London even more than anywhere else it makes more sense to air evening news programmes in the 7pm hour?

i hope the imaginatively-named EVENING NEWS and EVENING SHOW can keep up the high standards achieved by its much-loved predecessors.

This is all so irredeemably bad. All there is to say.

I get home at 6pm, our TV doesn't generally go on until 9pm (and our kids are grown up now !), I'd go for local news at 22:30hrs

Which is the very slot I feel ITV should be going for with their Regions. ITV could have provided a better proposal in 2014 with no out of area nonsense by producing a 20 minute sub-Regional programme at 22:30. A true alternative to the BBC...though as stated previously by Brekkie it's the advertising revenue that could suffer. Would surely pull in more viewers for News At Ten though?
With the London Live programme I agree though this could work. With less News around the peak time, they could show more popular programme that may pull viewers away from other channels. I'm still not sure if this will be the case but it would be great to see Local TV perform well in this country (whether that be as a Network or separate Local stations).
