Central News East had technical problems last night at 6.20pm with no reports being able to run finally got the Weather with Lucy to play. Bob and Sameena really did struggle on. I thought Bob was showing his age as in backs gone by he would of found it easy to ad lib for 10 minutes especially with Michelle Newman!

Wesley once again presenting Central news this evening, glad to see him presenting again, very warm and welcoming, makes you want to watch the weekend news round up with his friendly manner.

I could easily contribute things that are only very loosely relevant to the thread, but I don't want to annoy people.


We don't want this becoming a rota thread about a presenter who's done nothing more than cover a few shifts on Central West in the past. Not a regular presenter in the region, you're also going into far too much irrelevant detail about the presenters in a completely different region.

Emma Jesson has made a long overdue appearance on Central's weather tonight after many months.

Wish she could return to the region full time, or at least a bit more regularly than she does at the moment.

Two special editions of the 6pm main edition last night - Bob and Lucy in the studio standing up for the programme making use of the large projector screen minus a desk. Over in the East Matt and Sameena on location.

The Midlands Today update during Breakfast at 9am was done by what looks to be some kind of reception in the newsroom. Slightly odd considering Elizabeth had been in the studio the rest of the morning. Is this a regular occurrence or a one off?

Just another example of how sloppy the production standards are constantly slipping. I feel the production standards of Central News were much higher in the 1990s than today...
