I know that most of you will have a go at me for saying this but it's nice to have a show presented from outside of London for a change. I think this morning should move back here. London isn't the only place in the UK....

The reason they moved it to London in the first place was for content, if they moved it back to Liverpool as well it would probably be more expensive to run and they wouldn't have as many desired guests. Most people don't care where something comes from, but they would care if they content is adversely effected.

Bit disappointing for me from a production point of view, people will say I'm being too anal but for a mainstream broadcaster, the lighting, sound and VT issues are really bad...

So it's not the original studio yeah I thought so as I don't remember the view as dark as that, the space they were in today what is it normally used for?, as to the production quality yeah it's disappointing even the feed back to itv was just SD I thought they would have made the effort to produce the 25th anniversary show in HD.

In terms of technical issues it's irrelevant if they were in the original space or the one next door at right angles (where they seemed to be), as none of it is a TV production facility any more so they're starting from scratch whatever.

When I was last in Liverpool (which was a long time ago) the This Morning studio space was the café of an art gallery or similar.

Also mono sound, I guess sometime in 2014 it will go HD but obviously this is low priority

Has Keith Lemon fallen in yet?

There was no chance if that the weather map was too small!

They did a phone-in on mental health recently.

So every series except the last few have had 'extended' theme music, I wonder if they'll keep it at the new one, or I wonder if there will be a new 'extended' version.

Didn't the 2009 version have an 'extended' version? Pretty sure I've heard it somewhere...

By 'extended' do you mean the extra bit from the end of the middle section before the climax?
I'm sure when TM relaunched in 2009 it used the full 30'' theme while from about 2010/2011 they seemed to use a 23'' theme.
Both are available to download on www.televisiontunes.com/ - just type in This Morning and one is 'This Morning Title Mock 2009' and the other is 'This Morning - 2011'.

Very Happy
I much prefer the longer versions and hopefully we'll hear the new long version soon!
Can't wait for tomorrow's show Smile

There was a proper full version of it, not just a mock. I'm sure it got posted in the requests thread but I can't seem to find it any more. I think it was posted along with the headline bed and short titles...

The version on TV Tunes is not a mock - TV Tunes have ripped it from a video of some Mock Titles on Youtube hence the name.

I hope they don't go too crazy with some of the cheesy features that are typical of This Morning these days.

Yes because floating weather maps and the clip below are less cheesy than the features of today?

I think some people may be looking at things with rose tinted glasses.

And does anyone have the theme from those titles? It's different....

How self-sufficient was the Liverpool operation in the early days of This Morning? Did they have VT on site or were things played in from Manchester?

Having read someone else's post about wanting This Morning to move back to Liverpool, I know it's very very unlikely. The area of the Albert Dock shows the flexibility with which you can operate a programme there as they moved around the docks to different presentation areas. Also, visually, it showed how absolutely stunning the city looks, whether it's the Liver Building and the other two Graces in the background, Mann Island (the black shiny building), or just looking out onto the water. It's a welcome change from a grey-tone view out of the window to the River Thames.

Moving from London is out of the question, but one suggestion could be to go to Liverpool to do This Morning during the summer, to add variety to the show. I think this would go down brilliantly as a compromise, and Liverpool would look even better with sunshine.

Above all, today has shown the heart of This Morning, the team of experts etc. still remains. There was great excitement with people walking past the window and the crowds that can gather to watch. I think the Albert Dock brings a lot more to the table than the physical location of their current studio. A return to the Albert Dock in the future would be, for me, greatly welcomed, although it will never happen!

Sadly today's show was a bit of a shambles. Really great idea to take the show back to the Albert Dock but there was a lot of mishaps which really hampered a show that I felt could've been better technically had they stayed in London, the quiz for example which was truly terrible considering they had to abandon the final round as they lost the question cards.

Its home in London now is really fit for purpose and there would be no reason for the show to move to Liverpool even just for the Summer. The people filing past the window were just annoying as well as the noise disturbance. Also I think the costs for ITV to get the show up there for a few months would be way too high as they'd need a more semi-permanent set up to what they had today.
Also I'm not sure the Albert Dock would be too keen either as it does get quite busy during the Summer months with the shops there, and with the crowd control going on outside the studio, it may hamper visitors freely shopping in the dock.

All in all the shows history is Liverpool, but the shows future is very much London.
