I was going to ask in what way London don't have the 'new look'? Very few (if any) regions will be able to adopt a circular set because of budget and studio/space limitations, hence Midlands Today has a rather pokey three-wall set. And the NWT/Breakfast set is just a series of plasma screens - similar then to London.

The 1999 era regional sets were all circular and some of them had back projection screens.

But since then many of the regions have moved into new buildings with much smaller studios.

BBC London weather appears to be coming from one of the other studios tonight already.

It wouldn't surprise me as the weekend bulletins used the fixed head shot, so Joe Public wouldn't notice the difference.

Normal studio tonight (although weather may have come from one of the weather studios) - could be changes tomorrow Wink

They could do something like network (their old set was rounded with a view of the newsroom/BBC Birmingham offices - the reason the window went was the fact it was distracting and there's nothing left at the Mailbox!

Will be interesting to see what LDN come up with...

Does the window still exist though, to mask the noise from the newsroom, even though we no longer see it on screen?

Oh yes, it's behind a very thick curtain, the door is still in use

It was distracting - seeing people go home is never a good idea, but surely the area behind the studio window was the newsroom which is still populated with people
