Oops, technical problem on BBC WN before Newsday...
After the countdown, instead of the headlines, viewers had been given a live shot of New Broadcasting House's façade with the headlines bed.

BBC WN is now airing a recorded edition of Newsday, from an hour earlier.

EDIT: It's strike day, I forgot. Rolling Eyes

Oops. World is presently airing a screwed up noddy shot interview between Jon Sopel and David Cameron. They are playing out Sopel's questions overlaid right on top of where David Cameron is supposed to be speaking. And when we cut to Sopel, he is miming.

Very messy indeed.

Never thought there would be some problems like that during the strike.

I wouldn't if it's an NUJ strike - surely any technical problems lie with the crew most of whom shouldn't - in theory at least - shouldn't be striking. I don't envy them having to work on a day like today, but that particular problem was a pretty major for one of the only major, and exclusive, stories of the day.

Don't forget large amounts of the work that would have been once done by technical crew is now done by journalists on their desktop. Lots of the editing and recording of feeds etc. is now a journalist job rather than a 'technical' one.

Nice to see a report being done from Studio A by Pallab Ghosh.

Caps lock on the NC strap during Newsday.

I suspect Anna did a rush job with that PTC after midnight.

There are a number of other studios around W1. I think that BBC Arabic and/or Persian now have a VR studio of their own? And there are also Multimedia Production Areas - which are like little mini-studios and galleries. I presume 60 Seconds and the BBC One Daytime News summaries will come from one of these?
