What about the other regions? Do they all get locally produced weather forecasts? If so, that's progress on the old GMG North days.

Mostly. Each have their own weekday presenter. However a lot still comes from Leeds (excluding Granadaland which now has Central alternate weekends).

Good to see it looks like they'll be changing most the regional news studios - I guess in reality it costs ITV no more to get teams into every region over one weekend than to have a couple of teams going round the regions changing their sets over a few weeks. Strange though how some have been able to go CSO while others haven't.

Do you remember in 2004 when there was the last major rebrand, Calendar took ages to get the new corporate studio. Here's a clip

Hopefully on Monday, things will be very different

It's a pattern with ITV though isn't it? For example in 2004(?), London Tonight updated with the 4 squares in the old studio and then not long after moved to the generic set at ITN.

With regards to why some haven't went CSO... space (or lack of)!

Yes they moved back to the regions a few years ago, ( start of 2009 I think?) so the presenters can appear in the programmes more for the weather chat. In Granada's case it was when Jo Blythe became the dedicated presenter and Fred Talbot came back on board.

Sophia Bird, ITV Channel confirms new look for Channel TV, and that their studio is big enough for the old & new side by side.

It sort of amuses me how Channel is now 'ITV News Channel'.

I had to laugh when Anglia Tonight was broadcast from the reception tonight! I've been in there before for a tour and the programme was literally from the corner of the reception area.

I wonder what's going to happen with Channel. As this is the first chance for ITV since they bought Channel to rebrand it in their own way, are they going to use the opportunity to scrap unique idents and possibly do some other damage like finally kill off Oscar Puffin? You have to admit, Channel doesn't really 'fit' ITV PLC as it stands. Big studio premises, large amount of staff, dedicated graphics department, that sort of thing.

ITV4's twitter seems to have been abandoned. No updates since 5 December.

Does anybody else think the blue theme suited ITV News a lot better than the yellow theme it has now? I don't mind the national news in yellow so much but the yellow theme on the local news just isn't pleasant compared to the one above.
