I quite like it. Not childish or London 2012 at all. I can imagine they've got a nice font to accompany it.
I've heard the same font is remaining.
Font's are expensive to make, so good to hear they will keep theirs. Its not as if its been put to best use with all the mediocre graphics ITV have been using

Agreed. I love the current font.
It's been let down by the accompanying package. This should hopefully change now,
'Lifestyle', feminine, friendly - some words that spring to mind IMO; not totally out of place, actually. But for News and Current Affairs? Honestly, I'm not too sure yet.

New logo - I kinda like it...London 2012 logo it ain't.
You're spot on. It's nothing like the London 2012 logo. That was genius. An amazing, game changing, instantly recognisable logo up there with Coca-Cola.
This on the other hand is a little underwhelming. But perhaps that's what's needed in a TV logo. The Olympics was a once in a lifetime spectacular, and needed a spectacular logo to suit. TV logos need to be a bit wishy-washy as they are on all the time and need to fit lots of different genres.
This logo makes it less likely I will ever start watching ITV again. Looks like a girly cupcake store logo, and besides, the main problem with the network is that all the programming is ****, total and utter fecal matter.

You can't really say that if you don't watch it in the first place.
There are similarities to the new 'More 4' logo, which did not make sense until the ident package was revealed.
This new logo and the limited presentation items we have seen so far (nice cushions!) seem to indicate that ITV are moving away from the current stuffy and oldness and going with a more modern and youthful feel which IMHO is a definite improvement.
This reveal definitely makes up for the 2 month BBC World News move delay.
