I would like to express my displeasure with the recent choices Pete has made.

Would that be the choice to turn off the chatroom that only you and three others used because it was a drag on resources and affecting the rest of the site for no material benefit?
Yes.

Fluck me!

How sexy is Metropol looking today?

As Pete says, 2010 was when the look was created, to echo the 1979 BBC titles as you will see in the side-by-side comparison. Oh yes.

Metropol(l) at it's very best, if I don't mind saying so myself.

Just wait until you see what's planned in 2015 (or 2014 when David Cameron is voted off I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.)

Good Lord! That's nothing short of brilliant. Who made that??? Give him a pat on the back.

And, for the BIG MOIRA fraternity, a sneaky glimpse of the lady herself.

Pardon my ignorance, but on the Metropoll version, who are the digitised faces at the beginning of the clip?

That's jolly decent of you to say. It was me with Abobe Premiere, After FX and a few hours of time.

The digitised figures are:

Gordon Brown
David Cameron
The knitted character from Harry Hill's TV Burp

The video (some of it grainy and not very easy to see) in the background of the animations features:

The hands typing at the typewriter at the start of Murder She Wrote
Our own James Ison
Alex Salmond
[a split screen with] Kay Alexander on the Left and Jesica Fletcher on the right
Our own Big Phil (he loves lamp)

And in the rosettes:

Maggie Mash
Our own Nick Harvey
Big Moira.

In addition, the forum theme itself was yet another masterpiece by our long standing design partners Norwich Designer (our very own Lee and Jamesypoo) with technological implementation by myself and Sput.

Plus thanks to Bail and @themeddlingmatt on twitter for cartoon based help

I had no idea I featured in that until today.

The clips came from the brilliant "J@-ron She Wrote" forum meme from many years ago. It was a teeny Real Player (yeesh) video.

I was using them as placeholder clips and had ambitions to ask members to shoot some footage, but time ran out, and the older footage seemed more appropriate in the end.

What lamp do you love? And why?

re: the metropoll titles, I have no idea why but it just cracks me up every time I see Alex Salmond with the word TSK scrolling over him. I think it's that his facial expression is so apt for it. Very Happy
