The should bring back The Colour of Money. That was a really good game but just done really badly.

On a similar note- why on earth have ITV never brought back Pokerface? That was a brilliant format, great show which I think only lasted 2 series and has never been heard of since. Did it not perform well in the ratings?

Ant & Dec are only contracted to 3 shows per year with ITV- I'm a Celebrity and Britain's Got Talent are two of those, and for the last couple of years they have used Push the Button/Saturday Night Takeaway as the third. I'm not sure why they won't do a fourth, but it was a good show and it has probably been long enough for it to return with a new host.

Tipping Point feels like it should be an unaired pilot, not a 20 episode commission. ITV have had success with The Chase, but if they want something to play against it, they could have done worse than longer runs of Divided. Seemed like a good format, and did ok.

In other ITV news I notice that 'Superstar' is getting the BGT treatment for the live shows, stripped over a week from 16 July at 9pm. However, unlike BGT, it's 9pm start pushes ITV News to 10.30pm all week.

10.30pm (Superstar has a 9pm slot) is too late for Primeval, which is family viewing. ITV don't care to be honest, it's effectively been axed, and the so-called new series has already been shown on Watch and released on DVD.

That nightscreen say 19.30 for superstar. If not what is getting broadcast.

remember primeval is effectively on ly a free to air broadcast of something that watch have already broadcast on pay tv quite a while back so teatime suits plus it had a teatime slot before hand anyway so no change really and itv want to show endless repeats of you ve been framed anyway if not for this and alistair mcgowans turdgiciticty then It would be 6:30 and not 5:30 but they think they know best don't they.

A new summer promo aired before Superstar. The sea-side postcard theme works fairly well (and includes a red ITV1 logo again) but the editing of the programme highlights is a bit poor. Not sure why Dancing on Ice is featured, perhaps a special on the arena tour (do they still do that)?

There is a Dancing on Ice Olympics Special apparently.

My gripe with ITV, apart from the almost total destruction of the regions and an end to once great regions like Central, is the way they seem to think viewers to 1 and 2 are a) stupid and won't understand anything that isn't totally mainstream, b) in the case of ITV2 you are female, probably buy celeb mags and go clubbing every Saturday so won't want anything more than soap repeats and banal reality shows. Also the way soaps are hammered to death with repeats and omnibuses is tedious, the overkill with talent and reality shows is unbearable and breakfast and morning shows are like watching paint dry.
However, ITV 3 is an excellent channel for nostalgia and films and ITV 4 really does try hard with its male oriented mixture of sports( I love their coverage of the TT and le Tour), old action shows, films and classic sport. It's just the two main channels are so awful.
