Sunday will be the unusual pairing of Simon McCoy & Naga Munchetty, so it'll be interesting to see if they DO travel up to Salford or remain in London.

Although Naga has tweeted that it is her and Nick. I also noticed on twitter that Louise has said that the days she will be presenting are Thursday, Friday, Saturday...I wonder if we are always going to get Naga on a Sunday?

That's what I was thinking. Maybe Sundays will become Naga and Nick from TVC - would be great in my opinion!

The really could do without the pot plant on Susanna's shoulder.

Is it not a bin?

This move has been exactly what I expected; better but still shoddy titles, the same cramped looking shots as NWT have because the platform is positioned in such a way that the cameras can't get far enough back to get a decent shots which in turn is because of the small studio.

It's hard to believe the area the studio is now in is they best space they could have. I'm not grumbling about the set too much, it's not perfect but it would work in a larger studio (both floorspace and height).

what's DLT?

Down The Line

Well DLT is Dave Lee Travis. But yes..

Having watched North West Tonight, the worst part of the studio has always been the main presenter shot. It doesn't look right. I'm not sure why they felt the need to make sure the entire plasma filled the background at the expense of even having the presenters centred in shot this morning.

As a whole though, it seemed like the usual Breakfast from a tiny studio.

It feels like a regional news programme now. Almost like North West Tonight - it's terrible!

Not worth the wait and certainly not worth the money!

Stop moaning and watch DayBreak.

A little disappointed with the titles, I must say. There doesn't seem to be much going on, especially cared to the generic BBC News titles. That said, I suppose they wanted a softer, more subtle approach.

As for the set, yes its small, but we all knew that.
What they've done with the set is brilliant though, it looks fantastic, in my opinon. The background is lovely, especially the skyline, and obviously with the screens being plasmas, the image is so much clearer and more importantly brighter. Infact, what I hated about the previous set especially was that it was too dark.
I also think that the columns in between the screens look nice, actually.

With you there, you've pointed out what I missed Josh - ultimately they're making the best of a small space and are maximising it - however not keep on the orange lighting, myself - gives the impression "This is a dark, closed space and we're trying to make it look bigger". Should have gone white or cool blue!

You don't really understand lighting do you.

It looks brighter and fresher, new background is nice too, suits a morning show more then the blurry dark mess they used to have.

You're right about that. I just looked at a picture of the London studio and it did look stale and overly dark and drab. I know this is smaller than London, but it does have a cosy, brighter feel to it. With work on the camera work and lighting to be more red IMO, Breakfast will be completely fine.

No one has answered the question asked a few times ever since the plan to move to Salford was announced, how are the NWT opt outs handled ?

Top secret, it's all magic!

Do they even opt-out now? I thought that they were simply the 'main feed' and that London had to opt-out instead (along with the NC taking London's feed). Confused

It's not brilliant, and I'm not entirely sure if it's better than what was before, but it's a start. Despite Martin doing a better titles mock, the new titles are still an improvement. In terms of the studio, generally, it looks quite nice, although with a bit too much orange lighting. The backdrop is actually quite nice on-screen, which isn't what I was expecting. Business Breakfast looks particularly nice, although I think the graphics on the screen during the TOTH could have gently animated.

The let-down really is the lighting grid. If it was higher, then it wouldn't be as cramped, and would look quite a bit nicer. Also, it's sad to see no single presenter shots.

If the lighting grid was higher it would be called a studio, its not bad for an office.

Ew. That set is just nasty. The naff lighting on those back walls is inherently bad, never mind when in a grim burnt orange. The backdrop of a departure lounge in the world's most dull airport terminal building is just weird, and the perspective/scale goes totally to sh*t in anything other than the two-presenter shot, except even then you're incredibly aware that you're looking at two people sitting in front of a telly. While the old Barco walls were hardly convincing, they were at least a little more robust to this. The only plus side I suppose is that it's all rather bright, but then that's probably a side-effect of having the lighting rig hovering ominously over the talent's face.

There's always Daybreak, just press 3.

Similarly there's Digital Spy available, just google it.

This is a TV presentation fourm, we discuss, and critique TV presentation. It's the whole point of the forum. Everyone has opinions, if you don't like someones opinion, fine, that's allowed too, but argue against them rather than churning out childish remarks.

But that's the point isn't it? People are arguing the room/office/studio isn't the correct place to house a programme such as Breakfast.
