No one has answered the question asked a few times ever since the plan to move to Salford was announced, how are the NWT opt outs handled ?
As usual using a smaller pres gallery from the SQ DTL studio!
Given the DTL studio is in the corner of the newsroom (as I understand it) it does mean there's a fair amount of background noise now the whole Breakfast team is in the building - which you could hear on the North West opt.
Unless the noise has always been there, but I've not noticed it before.
Agree about the noise. I could definitely hear a lot today, and not any before today.
It looks a bit more cramped but we'll get used to that, and I don't mind the orange tint in the lighting, it makes it look warmer at that time in the morning. Overall it looks much fresher. Daybreak has shown that it's the content which is important, not how the set looks or how orange the presenters are!
R.e Sunday; I'd be very surprised if it came from Salford, not just this week but any Sunday. Its only usually on BBC1 from 6-7.35am anyway so it might not be worth it.
Regarding the animated background, surely it wasn't just me who noticed the obvious jump when it looped? It did it twice in one interview, so the loop must be 5 minutes or less.
I agree with other members that the orange light the studio has been daubed in should be replaced, largely, with white - it makes for a much better look, especially in HD. The plasma backdrop was wonderfully clear, and the general picture quality was much better, even on Freeview. Hopefully the graphic alignment issues (like the gap between the LIVE bug and the location strap) will be fixed.
The awful quality when they went to Richard Thomas didn't seem to be mirrored during the regional bulletin - whether that's Salford's problem or Newcastle's is unclear.

Sunday will be the unusual pairing of Simon McCoy & Naga Munchetty, so it'll be interesting to see if they DO travel up to Salford or remain in London.

Although Naga has tweeted that it is her and Nick. I also noticed on twitter that Louise has said that the days she will be presenting are Thursday, Friday, Saturday...I wonder if we are always going to get Naga on a Sunday?
