A little disappointed with the titles, I must say. There doesn't seem to be much going on, especially cared to the generic BBC News titles. That said, I suppose they wanted a softer, more subtle approach.
As for the set, yes its small, but we all knew that.
What they've done with the set is brilliant though, it looks fantastic, in my opinon. The background is lovely, especially the skyline, and obviously with the screens being plasmas, the image is so much clearer and more importantly brighter. Infact, what I hated about the previous set especially was that it was too dark.
I also think that the columns in between the screens look nice, actually.

With you there, you've pointed out what I missed Josh - ultimately they're making the best of a small space and are maximising it - however not keep on the orange lighting, myself - gives the impression "This is a dark, closed space and we're trying to make it look bigger". Should have gone white or cool blue!

Surprised it's still BBC London filling the opts on the News Channel - doesn't that mean somebody has to staff N6 to do that switch or feed London up the line to Salford?

Overall audience response to the presentation has been negative based on Facebook comments, know it's not really an official source but comments include;
Jo Banfield Far too orange on my tv! thought I was watching Daybreak!
Stephen Bailey Not liking the background looks like cheap and nasty Daybreak! It's distracting from the presenters!
Sally Nyland Hideous!! It's like watching Daybreak! Need to zoom out a bit

She'd see (the beginnings) of a building site if she did... Nowt there! Stick her on the Mailbox canalside. That'll be a slap in the face for Salford*
*I call that new phrase, the old Pebble Mill phrase of "That's another slap in the face for London"...
So for the weather Carol is in the Northern town of Banbury. She might make it up to Pebble Mill next week.

In doing so, they helped make tv history as the show is now the longest daily programme outside the capital for a main UK tv channel.
