Good news that Nick and Naga are back on Breakfast on Sunday!

Is that in the Radio times?

Naga tweeted about it. Not sure about Radio Times.

Wouldn't have though that Nick would travel up to Salford.

Charlie and Louise on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Why is there no hold on opt in music? Feels weird to go to complete silence.

And they still haven't panned right to fit all of Susanna in. I prefer the shot with the slight view of the lightbox on the right and a glimpse of items on the desk. A far less cramped shot and much better IMO.

It looks brighter and fresher, new background is nice too, suits a morning show more then the blurry dark mess they used to have.

You're right about that. I just looked at a picture of the London studio and it did look stale and overly dark and drab. I know this is smaller than London, but it does have a cosy, brighter feel to it. With work on the camera work and lighting to be more red IMO, Breakfast will be completely fine.

Looks like they've tried to drag in tons of guests to show that being in Salford isn't going to be a problem on that front. Wonder how long that will last?

Titles are rubbish - looks like a sort of mock that needs work from here, MDTA's mock being 100x better than those!

Studio's a mixed bag really - it looks tiny in wide shots unless they do it very wide, and it's disappointing that there are no 'single' shots during the news segment, instead the presenters sit together reading story one by one which looks odd. Could they not even just zoom the camera into the presenter and move it across when needed, just during the news?

But it does look lighter and airier with the backdrop. Not very impressed at all really but it could have been a lot worse!

It's a whole lot better than I was expecting. I actually quite like the backdrop, much clearer than the one in London, needs more animation though.
However, I don't like the wideshots and the fact there isn't a single presenter shot.
If only a BBC producer had seen Martin's mock......
Overall, I have mixed feelings, we'll see how it goes!

2 BBC Breakfast staff saw it, one being a producer!

No one has answered the question asked a few times ever since the plan to move to Salford was announced, how are the NWT opt outs handled ?

If only they'd used it....
The 'new' titles aren't awful, Martin's mock was just better.

There tends to be the same problem when that studio is used for North West Tonight, often leaving the non-speaking presenter alternating between staring at the speaker or gazing blankly and dead-eyed into the camera.

I seem to remember on one of these news threads that there is an offical name for the triangle of looking CAMERA - DESK - CO-PRESENTER when not speaking but in shot?
